A tried-and-true way of consistently moving the ball down the field is to open up gaps in the defense at the point of attack. In this video featuring Myers Hendrickson, you'll learn all about Hendrickson's movable gap system and how to implement it within your own offense.

Moveable Gap Philosophy

Coach Hendrickson begins this presentation by giving an overview of his offensive philosophy that utilizes a moveable gap system. The moveable gap player is a hybrid fullback/tight end that is used in multiple ways to create an additional gap in the formation that the defense has to account for after the snap.

Hendrickson also explains how the moveable gap player can be used in the passing game to put tremendous stress on the defense. Not only will you see how to use the movable gap player on the field - you'll also see how to identify the best candidates in your program to serve as the movable gap player.

Run and Pass Concepts

Coach Hendrickson spends considerable time diagramming various run and pass schemes that he utilizes with his offense. The run game is based on gap blocking fundamentals while attacking the defense both inside and on the perimeter. Hendrickson also diagrams his jet sweep series, from a number of formations, that keeps the pressure on the defense by threatening multiple gaps in one play. Finally, you'll learn several play action concepts that will complement your run attack.

This video will be a great addition to any offensive coach's library. With the concepts in this video, your team will put great stress on your opponents' defenses this season and turn into an offensive powerhouse!

If you are looking for simple concepts in the passing game to create explosive plays for your team, this is the video for you! Coach Myers Hendrickson does a tremendous job of organizing his "Lay-up" (RPO), "Full Sell" play-action and vertical passing concepts that can be implemented into any offensive system.

Lay-Up

The Lay-up concept gives you simple rules to get the ball on the perimeter to your playmakers off of your base run game. The ability to incorporate lay-ups out of any formation or personnel grouping allows you to appear complex to the defense, while remaining simple for your players. That simplicity allows your players to play fast and confident!

Full Sell

The Full Sell play-action series allows you complement your run game with easy concepts that contain answers for any coverage family. Coach Hendrickson utilizes a simple "Green-Yellow-Red" teaching progression for quarterbacks that allows them to play without over-thinking.

The vertical spacing and 4-vertical concept allows you to create 1-on-1 match-ups on the edge with your best playmakers. This concept is versatile and can be implemented into any offensive system. In addition to the base principles, Coach Hendrickson gives you simple adjustments to implement that will provide answers for any defensive coverage.

This video is well organized with diagrams and film that makes it easy to understand and is a tremendous option for any offensive coach looking to increase efficiency and production in the passing game. Finding enough quality practice repetitions for all of your quarterbacks throughout the week can be a big challenge for coaches. In addition to teaching ball security, footwork, throwing mechanics, pre- and post-snap reads, and route progressions, the responsibilities required of a quarterback in a multiple, no-huddle offense are immense. What can you do as a coach to get the most out of the time spent with your QBs on the practice field?

In this video, Myers Hendrickson details how to teach and develop quarterbacks by designing and implementing game-like drills so that your QBs have the opportunity to improve throughout the entirety of practice. Coach Hendrickson provides in-depth commentary, game and practice film, and whiteboard illustrations to show how you can teach your quarterback to become a more efficient player.

Practice Structure and Design

Learn how to design and implement game-like drills for your QBs for the entirety of practice to get the most out of your time. Finding creative ways to incorporate quarterbacks into group and team practice drills gives them more repetitions and opportunities to work on basic fundamentals of QB play.

Coach Hendrickson explains how to seamlessly incorporate your quarterbacks into drills traditionally designed for other position groups so that quarterbacks can work on individual fundamentals within a group or team concept.

Detail-Oriented and Game-Related to Improve Efficiency

Using proper fundamentals will lead to efficient QB play; and an efficient QB will lead to an efficient offense. In addition to teaching your QB ball security, correct footwork, and proper throwing mechanics for zone and power runs, and for quick game, dropback, and sprint out passes, Hendrickson teaches three techniques for meshing with the running back to manipulate defenders on play actions, perimeter screens, slip screens, and RPOs.
